Massachusetts Junior Conservation Camp scholarship

The Uxbridge Rod and Gun club will sponsor one junior member from the club using funds from the Blanchard Fund.

The Massachusetts Junior Conservation Camp is a two-week overnight summer camp, held in August for children aged 13-17. You are strongly encouraged to go through the website in order to make sure your child would be interested in, and willing to make the commitment to attend the camp.

Essay contest rules:

Have your junior member review the website and compose an essay of no less than 150, but no more than 250 words, explaining why they want to attend the camp, and why they should be chosen to attend the camp.

Entries must be received no later than Friday December 22, 2017 and should be mailed to The Uxbridge Rod and Gun Club, Attention: Blanchard Fund, P.O. Box 412, Uxbridge, MA 01569.

All entries will be given a number and forwarded without a name to a panel of 5 judges to read and chose a winner and runner up, in the event the winner cannot or wishes not to attend. The numbered essay will coincide with the junior member who wrote it in a separate location with a committee member who is not reading or judging the essays. The panel will have read the entries and a winner will be announced at the January meeting. The winner will be notified via phone and email. Once the winner has been notified, there will be further instructions on the application process etc. Eligible junior members may only enter one essay, and the winner chosen is a final decision and will not be changed.
